- Telephone policy:
Our phone lines are opened from Monday to Friday between 8am and 4:30pm and on Saturday, between 9am and 12pm. We do not use voicemail outside those hours.
Doctors will not take phone calls during consultating hours for non-urgent situations. A message will be taken and given to the doctor. Urgent phone calls will be put throught to the doctor or a nurse.
If you want to talk to a nurse, a message will be taken and given to the nurse. They will be in contact with your by the end of the working day.

Emails are checked regularly. Please allow up to two business days to action emails.
In case of emergency situation or for medical questions, that are not suitable for email, please contact the practice on 9956 8999.

We do not use encrypted emails and cannot guarantee confidentiality of information sent by email.
Consultation Fees
Many consultations are fully or partially covered by Medicare for those patients holding a current Medicare card. Private patients can expect to pay a consultation fee.
Those currently under concession are offered a discounted rate off their appointments. Please note: Midwest Aero Medical does not routinely Bulk Bill its patients and all weekend appointments will be charged a private fee.
Certain consultations are not covered by Medicare. These include all medicals, ear irrigation's, drug and alcohol screening and some wound care. These are to be paid at the time of consultation as we do not offer accounts. Please check with reception when booking to discuss fees.

Appointments
Appointments with your usual GP are preferred for your routine care. Should you require an appointment for multiple issues, full medical examinations or if you are bringing the family with you please respect other patients and inform our reception staff so that an extended appointment time can be scheduled.
Note: Unfortunately, we are currently not accepting new patients at the practice.
Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are offering over the phone consultations - than may or may not attract fees to the patient (Medicare telephone consultation, if eligible, are currently if you have seen a doctor at the practice within the last 12 months.)
Emergencies will be attended to as a priority. Please remember in case of an emergency, call 000 or Geraldton Hospital on (08) 9956 2222.
In most cases we are closed Public Holidays.
Missed Appointments
Missed appointments attract a fee:
- $45 for a missed standard appointment
- $65 for a missed extended appointment
Please call to cancel your appointment in advance to avoid this fee.
Repeat Prescriptions
Repeat Prescriptions will only be issued through your doctor, and it is preferred that you attend a consultation to obtain these. If due to unforeseen circumstances you are unable to make an appointment you may email your request to reception@mwaeromedical.com.au.
- the full name and dosage of the requested medications,
- your doctor's name,
- your full name and date of birth,
- the way you want it delivered:
- collection of paper script,
- or e-script to specified mobile number,
- or email to specified pharmacy.
Referral Letters
Referral letters will only be issued through consultation with your doctor. Reprint of referrals can be requested by emailing reception@mwaeromedical.com.au . This service may incur a fee of $25.
Results
The doctor will review your results and you will be contacted only if a follow-up appt is necessary.
For privacy reasons, results will not be discussed over the phone. If you wish to discuss your results, you will need to make an appointment with your doctor.
Removal of Lesions
For all minor surgeries, a primary consultation is required for your doctor to assess the area and prioritise your care.
